Son objectif est de faire respecter de fa\u00e7on durable la limitation \u00e0 50 km\/h, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un syst\u00e8me de contr\u00f4le consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme plus \u00e9quitable par la plupart des automobilistes. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>De nombreux exc\u00e8s de vitesse sont enregistr\u00e9s sur le Boulevard L\u00e9opold III. Certains d\u00e9passant de pr\u00e8s de 100 km\/h la limite maximale autoris\u00e9e. C\u2019est pourquoi on y a install\u00e9 le premier radar tron\u00e7on de la R\u00e9gion bruxelloise, sur un tron\u00e7on d\u2019une distance de 663 m pour les automobilistes qui entrent dans la ville et de 813 m pour ceux qui en sortent. Ces portions sont situ\u00e9es entre le boulevard G\u00e9n\u00e9ral Wahis et le rond-point de l\u2019avenue des Loisirs (Evere). Des panneaux indiquent l\u2019existence de cette zone de contr\u00f4le aux usagers de la route.Un radar tron\u00e7on mesure la vitesse moyenne entre deux points de passage et non pas la vitesse \u00e0 un point fixe. Selon une \u00e9tude de l\u2019association d\u2019automobilistes VAB, 75% des utilisateurs de voiture estiment que ce syst\u00e8me de contr\u00f4le est plus \u00e9quitable et contribue \u00e0 une meilleure fluidit\u00e9 du trafic. Ce syst\u00e8me a fait ses preuves ailleurs. Apr\u00e8s son installation, on constate g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement un changement de comportement radical des conducteurs, qui respectent davantage les limitations de vitesse.<\/p>\n<h4>Rendre Schaerbeek plus s\u00fbre<\/h4>\n<p>Bernard Clerfayt, Bourgmestre de Schaerbeek et Pr\u00e9sident du Coll\u00e8ge de la Zone de police, se r\u00e9jouit d\u2019accueillir ce nouveau radar \u00e0 Schaerbeek.\u00a0\u00ab\u00a0<em>Nous avons renforc\u00e9 les \u00e9quipes de la Zone de police pour la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 routi\u00e8re, ce qui a permis de quasi doubler les constats et verbalisations en un an, dont 67% en plus pour la vitesse excessive \u00e0 titre d\u2019exemple\u00a0! La technologie doit venir renforcer cet effort en capacit\u00e9 humaine.
